Insight Meets Unique IT Needs of Smaller Businesses

Launches new microsite for technology solutions tailored to the companies that do more with less

TEMPE, Ariz., June 11, 2018 – As the technology landscape continues to evolve, businesses of all sizes are being pushed towards adopting newer, more sophisticated technology solutions – from managing a rapid hardware refresh cycle, to cloud computing and data analytics. Yet with more limited IT resources at their disposal, small businesses are facing different challenges than their larger peers.

Insight (NASDAQ:NSIT) has created a new presence on its website dedicated to Insight Intelligent Technology Solutions™ for growing businesses, including IT lifecycle management, managed mobility and cloud migration.

“The pace of change in the IT world will continue to accelerate in the years to come, and independent business owners are in a particularly difficult position because they work in a resource-constrained environment,” said Steve Dodenhoff, President, Insight U.S. “Our new section on insight.com for growing businesses underscores our commitment to asking our customers what insight they need today to run smarter – and providing customized solutions based on their needs.”

Challenges for smaller businesses that the new insight.com focus aims to address include:

·         Sunsetting support for legacy systems. Many businesses continue to operate on the Windows 7 and 8.1 platforms, but with Microsoft ending support for these systems in January 2020, there is a critical need to upgrade both their hardware and software to adapt. Depending on the age of legacy systems and how current applications are, this can be a months-long process to either remediate older devices or replace with new, compatible devices. IT lifecycle management services can help smooth the transition.

·         An increasingly mobile workforce. Employees at smaller businesses have come to expect the same connectivity as those at larger organizations. Single-source procurement solutions, as well as managed services, can help growing businesses provide the devices the workforce needs to stay connected while ensuring sensitive information remains secure.

·         Transitioning to the cloud. According to Insight’s 2017 Intelligent Technology Index, only a third of small businesses had implemented the cloud, compared to two-thirds of their larger counterparts. This points to a critical need for guidance, from platform identification to migration strategy and execution.

·         Adapting to growth. As businesses grow, they need help scaling their IT services. This includes procuring the right apps and implementing the right systems to get new employees online expediently and keep costs down.

Added Dodenhoff: “The upswing of more cost-effective devices and collaboration tools, as well as the proliferation of public cloud platforms, are making modern technological innovations more accessible than ever to growing businesses. We want to demystify this ecosystem for our clients to help position them for success and scalability well into the future.”
